The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) was seized on Thursday by the Bobigny prosecution after the broadcast of a video showing police forces hitting a handcuffed man during an arrest in Neuilly-sur-Marne.
In this video of a few seconds posted on social networks, we see this handcuffed man being beaten by the police before being taken into their car.
The arrest took place during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, around 4 am, according to a police source.
That evening, a driver reported “being threatened” by a man with a “handgun” in a car with two other people, the source added.
“The local police quickly stopped the vehicle and its occupants,” said the police source.
All three were taken into police custody.
During the arrest, one of them “tried to get rid of an automatic pistol” with a “chambered cartridge and another in the magazine”, added this source, without specifying if it is this man who was abused by the police.
