See in the video: Crash landing in livestream makes Albatros “famous”.
Taiaroa Head, New Zealand: This crash landing made an albatross famous.
The unsuccessful landing approach is published on the Twitter account “Royal Albatross Cam”. Within a few days, the video was clicked around 150,000 times and helped the “unlucky person” to fame.
Before the eyes of a young animal, the king albatross rushes in from the left – and lands roughly on its beak. It takes a few seconds to recover. The bird should not have injured itself.
The operators of the Twitter channel write about the video: “Flying is mostly effortless for an albatross. Landing can be more difficult. ”And further:“ The chick sat in the front row during the lesson on how not to land. ”
Adult king albatrosses have a wingspan of up to three meters and can weigh more than eight kilograms. They are among the largest airborne birds in the world.
