102 new cases of Covid-19 are detected in Latvia
Last day, 102 new cases of Covid-19 were detected.
The largest number of Covid-19 tests per day has been performed so far – more than 5,000 people have been tested.
Another 9 people are hospitalized, which means that 75 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated in hospitals.
In our neighborhood – Lithuania, 139 Covid 19 cases were registered and three people died last day, but in Estonia another 40 cases were found.
Masks in public areas are mandatory
From Wednesday, October 14, face masks must be worn in shops and other public areas.
This requirement is rarely met in small grocery stores.
Store employees say customers are reprimanded without masks, but only a few obey.
People without masks say they have not heard of the new rules.
However, there are also people who put on the mask immediately when they leave the house.
Will change the Covid-19 testing procedure
The procedure for checking if a person is sick with Covid-19 will be changed.
People with symptoms of coronavirus will be given priority in testing.
The change is necessary because a lot of people want to take the test and therefore everyone has to wait for the test for several days.
In the future, patients will be able to be examined faster.
Russia promises to start vaccination against Covid-19
The world is very much looking forward to a vaccine that will stop the spread of the dangerous virus.
Russia promises to start vaccinating people with its own vaccine in the near future.
Russia says that many other countries also want to buy it.
The World Health Organization has not approved the pot developed by Russia.
The first tested and approved vaccine against the dangerous virus could not be ready until the end of the year.
Osipova has been elected the Chairman of the Constitutional Court

Sanita Osipova, the current Deputy Chairperson, has been elected the new Chairperson of the Constitutional Court for three years.
She was the only candidate for the position.
She says that she will continue the work she has started and wants the society to believe in the Constitutional Court and consider it fair and just.
