The statements of deputy Grevtsova will be evaluated
The State Security Service will evaluate the public statements of Saeima member Gloria Grevtsova (“For stability”) about the war started by Russia in Ukraine.
The service will do this in the criminal proceedings that have already started this week in connection with the MP’s other statements.
In one of her TikTok videos, Grevtsova claimed that there is a civil war in Ukraine, when the Ukrainian people are fighting against the Ukrainian army.
The National Security Service confirmed that the specific video is known to the service.
Rejects the idea of educational requirements for members of the Saeima
The Saeima commission will not advance the citizens’ initiative on setting higher education requirements for Saeima members.
At the same time, it was encouraged to continue discussions on improving the quality of the work of the parliament.
On the public initiative portal “Manabalss.lv” 10,000 signatures were collected for higher education as a mandatory requirement for members of the Saeima.
22 people were exempted from the language test
In Riga, 22 people received a psychiatrist’s opinion with a diagnosis that exempts a person from the state language proficiency test in January.
In total, 37 persons came to the visit to receive such an exemption from the state language proficiency test.
This is related to the new requirements for residence permit recipients.
The intensity of the flu decreases
In the past week, the average intensity of influenza has decreased in Latvia.
The highest incidence of influenza was recorded in children aged five to 14 years.
