The first choice is to appoint Zenggang District CPPCC and community leaders to complete local legislation before July

The National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference opened today (4th). It is understood that members of the Hong Kong District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference will attend a two-hour special meeting tonight. Xia Baolong, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, and Zhang Xiaoming, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, introduced the above decision. It is known that the official meeting revealed the direction of the amendment, including the deletion of 117 seats in the Election Committee and 6 District Council-related seats in the Legislative Council as expected; at the same time, a new sector will be added to the Election Committee, all of Hong Kong. District CPPCC and community leaders will be included. After the National People’s Congress is passed, Hong Kong still has to carry out relevant local legislation, hoping to strive for completion by July this year.

It is understood that Xia Baolong said at the meeting that the current struggle is not only within Hong Kong, but involves foreign forces, which is a national security issue. Article 23 of the Basic Law has been delayed for 17 years, and the National People’s Congress “831 Decision” on political reform has been delayed. It has been 7 years and can no longer be tolerated.
