HOKKSUND: The police and ambulance are at a private address in Hokksund in connection with a violent incident.
– Will be updated when we have more information, the police reported around 11 p.m.
At 23.40 the police stated that a knife had been used, and that the victim had been stabbed in several places. The person has been taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The police could not say anything about the extent of the injuries on Saturday evening, but on Sunday morning operations manager Trond Egil Groth said that the victim should not be life-threateningly injured.
– We do not know the extent of the damage. This is a serious matter, and when we spoke to the hospital at 2am last night, we were told that he is not life-threateningly injured, says Groth.
The victim was taken to Drammen hospital. The suspected perpetrator has been arrested, and it will be two local men, say the police.
Investigated throughout the night
Operations manager Groth tells Drammens Tidende that both are known to the police, but that it is currently too early to say anything about the background to the incident.
The arrest took place without drama in an apartment in the nearby area, he informs.
– We are now securing the scene and interviewing some witnesses. The case will be investigated going forward in the night hours and resumed more during the day tomorrow, Groth said around midnight.
The victim had knife wounds in several places on the body, according to the police.
On Sunday morning, Groth states that the arrested man will probably be questioned during the morning. He did not want to give further details about the people involved, such as age, and says that it is too early to say what the man will be charged with.
– We have to wait until more people have been questioned and we have been able to speak to the victims, says the operations manager.
