Stefan de Vrij wants to continue with Internazionale after this season, he confirmed on Monday night at the press conference of the Dutch national team before the League of Nations match against Bosnia & Herzegovina. This is contrary to reports from the Italian media.
Among other things Corriere dello Spórs said on Monday that De Vrij is in his final season at Inter. The 32-year-old defender remains with the Italian champions until the end of the season and Inter have the option to extend the contract by one year. According to Italian media, the club will not do that. At press time, De Vrij faces the fact that he is the subject of debate in the media. “Is that so?” he wonders.
“First of all, I don’t know anything about that. But, well, that’s not the situation,” said De Vrij. “I can say that I am in a good place at Inter. I have an option for another year, which is with the club. So the choice is with the club. But right now it’s too early to talk about that.”
De Vrij confirms that he hopes that the option will be included in his contract, and that he will remain so at Inter. “Of course, yes.”
