EIBERGEN – These are gloomy, wet and dark days. Especially now that the strict corona measures are in force, boredom can of course strike. Arie Wensink from Eibergen has therefore put a lot of nostalgic films on his YouTube channel. “Because of the corona rules it has become a bit more monotonous at home, to bring something to life in the brewery you can go to my YouTube page and watch the old films with the family. I have some super8 movies from 1974 to 1984 on my YouTube account posted ”. Arie explains. “In the meantime I have converted a whole row of old films into HD quality, nostalgic films with a lot of audience so that it becomes a feast of recognition when you recognize someone from a bygone era. The films are mainly about Eibergen, such as parades of music associations, folkloric dance groups, Carnival, Mill Days, etc. Connect your laptop with an HDMI cable to your TV and watch the films on a large screen with your whole family ”. Is the enthusiastic advice of Arie. Of course there are also plenty of streaming options via a Smat TV or Chromecast. Arie also has a question: “If there is someone who wants to sell a Hi8 video camera, I will be recommended so that I can also post old videos on YouTube”.

film: Nativity scene route in Gelselaar

GELSELAAR – “In this time of Corona we crave a bit of fun and fun. Many fun things are not possible right now, so let’s make our own small-scale activity! ”. Bas Bokhorst says. The Bie Shops and Gelselaars Belang foundation organize a Christmas Stables route through Gelselaar during the Advent season. “The intention is for as many residents as possible to create a Christmas scene in their garden or window. It should be clearly visible from the street and lit up at night. Furthermore, everyone can let go of his imagination. Together we provide a nice walking route through Gelselaar ”.

The route was officially opened at farm shops in Gelselaar last Friday, December 11. There are routes available at the starting point that lead the walkers past all participants. “29 addresses have officially registered with us, but there are already more. They are not on the route, because the tickets were already printed. ” Rita Bakker explains. The Nativity scene route is a new interpretation of the annual Lights route. After Christmas, the official end will be on December 28, but the stables can be left until a later date.

“We see this year as the start of an annual tradition with which we establish Gelselaar as a Christmas village. In the future we are aiming for around 80 nativity scenes, a Christmas market and a number of fun activities ”. This is how Bas Bokhorst and Rita Bakker outline their ambition
