News for the departmental archives of Eure-et-Loir

The archives are renewed with a new website and activities open to all. “The site is easier to administer. It is also simpler and richer for users,” rejoices Cécile Figliuzzi, director of the Departmental Archives of Eure-et-Loir.

What changes on the website?

The site offers more modern features. “In particular, it allows immersive virtual exhibitions and the consultation of document galleries with the restitution of our inventory. »

With this new site put into operation last month, “Internet users can also consult cartographic elements, timelines and answer quizzes. The public can find cadastral maps from the Napoleonic era, genealogical archives, cartularies (collections of property title charters) and many other archives.

Audiences interested in archives are very varied. “Professionals from the administration, genealogists, researchers and teachers or simply curious people come to carry out their research. »

Workshops are offered to all

“From kindergarten to high school, it has been very successful for students coming with their teacher. Professors can create their own research theme or follow those proposed. »

Students or those taking part in workshops can, among other things, learn about and discover ancient writing, the seals of official letters, genealogy or even calligraphy.

The affluence forces users to book workshops in advance. Admission, exhibitions and workshops are free.
