Today, almost all major newspapers have an obituary for Peter R. de Vries on behalf of nearly fifty news editors. The advertisement appears in De Telegraaf, AD, NRC and a number of regional newspapers, among others.
“One of us is no more. Peter R. de Vries, journalist”, is above the list of names of editors-in-chief. Among them are the editors-in-chief of De Telegraaf – the newspaper where De Vries started his reporting career, RTL Nieuws, the AD, Shownieuws, the ANP and BNR Nieuwsradio. NOS editor-in-chief Marcel Gelauff signed on behalf of the NOS and on behalf of the Association of Chief Editors.
