News, Drammen | One person died in a house fire: – Firefighters are still working against open flames

THE DRAMA: Large resources of the emergency services moved to Mjøndalen after a house fire.

Police later reported that there was a fire in an on-site residence.

– A person is still inside the address. There are flames coming out of the windows. Firefighters are on the way and other emergency services are on the way, Sørøst Police District said early on.

The on-site response manager could then confirm to Drammens Tidende that a person died after the house fire.

This was also confirmed by the Sørøst Police District on Twitter at 00:57.

– Smoke divers found a deceased person on the second floor of the building. The police are investigating.

There is still a lot of smoke on the site and flames from the roof. Firefighters are still working towards extinction.

Our reporter claims that two people were taken away in an ambulance.

In the residence in question there is a large presence of police and ambulance personnel. Also on site are the firefighters of Drammen and Øvre Eiker who are helping to put out the fire.

Oslo 110 headquarters informs ABBR is also sending a fire truck to Mjøndalen to assist.
