Karl Schnelle has been an integral part of the USV Halle Rhinos since 2007 and has made his way from youth player to the second men’s team.
Starting in the school group under Ms. Koch, he went through every age group and has been playing actively in the second men’s team since 2016. But Karl is not just a player – he volunteers for the Rhinos in a variety of ways.
He draws his motivation from his long-standing connection with the Rhinos: “The time here has had a big impact on me. I’m happy that I can give something back to the club through my commitment.” In addition to his tasks on the field, Karl takes care of the social media for the second men’s team, plans team activities and implements creative projects, such as the design of T- Shirts for the runner-up title. He is also active as a referee and supports the club at events such as the Lantern Festival
Despite his busy everyday life – with studies, part-time work, regular training sessions and games on the weekend – Karl always finds time for his volunteer work. “Basketball is my hobby and I always find a way to balance everything,” he explains. This discipline and enthusiasm make him a role model for others. With his commitment, he not only wants to support the club, but also inspire others for the sport.
Karl particularly appreciates the community in the club. “I have made many friends and am grateful to be part of this team.” For him, volunteering is an enrichment that not only strengthens the club, but also promotes personal development. That’s why he encourages others to get involved: “Even with small things you can make a big difference – not just for the club, but also for yourself. It’s worth it!”
