News – CHL to investigate cases of humiliation

Affected by collective action since last week, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), strong of 3 leagues and 60 teams, announced that it has set up an independent Analysis Committee to investigate acts of abuse and humiliation.

Led by former NHL player Daniel Carcillo for facts dating from the 2002-03 season when he was playing in the OHL, the legal action reports violent rituals, physical and sexual assaults as well as psychological trauma. Among the cases listed, players say among other things that they were forced to masturbate in front of their teammates and their coaches, to sexually assault teammates or to swallow other players’ bodily fluids …

Among the angry players, the former Geneva-Servette, Lugano and ZSC Lions player Dan Fritsche – who played 213 games in Switzerland between 2010 and 2015 – and who recounted some bad moments of his young career at “The AthleticDan Fritsche also explained that he never asked for help or told the facts during those years for fear of repercussions on his career, especially during this year when he could have been drafted.
