Orange Cameroon celebrates 5 Legends of Cameroonian music through the concept: Orange Music Legends.
Vibrating with the legends of yesterday and the stars of today this roughly sums up the maxim of a Cameroonian musician artist Longue Longue I quote “Don’t wait until the day of my death to pay me for the costumes, bring food , celebrate me”. The mobile phone operator Orange Cameroon leader in its field for 20 years already takes the bull by the horns by setting up this cultural concept which brings together the 5 great legends of Cameroonian music and even International coming from the 4 cultural areas in like the artists: Isnebo, Prince Afo AKOM, Tala André Marie, Petit pays, Ange Ebogo, the said selection was made on criteria such as: the representative cultural diversity of Cameroon, the national and international dimension of the latter, the ability to team working .
This Orange Music Legends concept has two aspects: an innovative musical show that aims to redefine the musical collaborations of these legendary artists who have carried the colors of Cameroon high, as well as the artists of the new generation carrying new rhythms (Mbolé, Afro Bit..) in its audiovisual aspect it is a reality show where the public is embarked on an unprecedented experience where the stage performances are evaluated by the votes of the public. We remind you that the exclusive presentation of this project was held on August 11, 2023 in the auditorium of the CRTV radio house, in the presence of these 5 legends for the artist Agne Ebogo, a key figure in bikutsi. 54 years of musical career during his speech “it is said particularly happy to have been invited to this meeting, he will demonstrate and make available his musical knowledge”.
André Marie Tala meanwhile 50 years of musical career, more than 200 titles registered with the SACEM “it’s a good initiative, something we missed. The combination of the forces of Orange Cameroon, CRTV and other partners in order to reflect on how to elevate Cameroonian music, I would like, he continues, to encourage young people to believe in this profession in order to restore the image of copyright”. These copyrights that continue to spark debates and quarrels in the Cameroonian artistic community.
Concretely, the first broadcast starts next Wednesday with posters, TV, radio and web appearances; Orange Music Legends will not only be done with yesterday’s legends of Cameroonian music, the organizing committee will also associate 5 young artists with confirmed talent who will randomly form new duos; for 12 weeks, for an overall broadcasting volume of 12 weekly themed programs of 24 minutes each, every Wednesday from 9 p.m. on CRTV.
We emphasize here that the votes will be sent by SMS to 8082, the themes will not be imposed by the organizers, but each artist will be responsible for defining them while respecting the specifications established by Orange Cameroon.
Mentioning ultimately within 3 weeks the organizing team will unveil the 5 young artists who will form duets with the 5 handpicked legends of Cameroonian music via an official presentation with the press which will be communicated later.
The power of the public, a major element of this “Orange Music Legends” concept, always faithful to Orange Cameroon, will bear on this project in the same way as the Ngondo Festival, Domaf, Star of tomorrow, Star News.
