The National Wildlife Development Center attributed the emergence of baboons in some locations in Riyadh to the acquisition of young monkeys of this type, and then disposing of them when they grow up.
He explained that the release of baboons outside the urban range leads to the formation of hotspots in areas that are not within its geographical extension.
The center had monitored 40,000 baboons in the Kingdom, and had begun implementing a plan to remove them from residential areas.
