The Rotana Audio-Visual Company has entered into an agreement with the Voice of Al Jazeera Group Company; purchase works and lyric contents by the Arab artist Mohamed Abdo; The deal is the largest technical deal in the Middle East.
The agreement was signed by the managing director of “Rotana” Salem Al-Hindi, while “Sawt Al-Jazeera” was represented by the skilled artist Mohammed Abdo, in the presence of the chairman of the board of directors of the General Authority for the Turki Al-Sheikh show.
Al-Sheikh pointed out that this agreement prevents a repetition of the difficulties we usually encounter with artists after their retirement and disagreement with their families in the management and conservation of their works, noting that it could be the most expensive archive sold. in the world.
He pointed out that the catalog of archived songs Rotana received includes 122 albums, noting that there are songs that could be re-recorded, especially after Mohamed Abdo’s songs were presented last season with hologram technology and some of them were recorded in a modern way.
For his part, the Arab artist Muhammad Abdo spoke about his career and the various stages his artistic works went through, and said: “The Voice of Al Jazeera Company went through difficult circumstances in the early 1960s, and there there have been many offers to purchase this audio library since its inception via CD. “
He added that all these works and content are archived and preserved, and at the suggestion of the head of authority, this artistic content has been transferred to the largest company that owns new technologies in artistic production.
