The Mecca Emirate Al-Mukarramah region has revealed the volume of free government services that have been provided to slum residents whose homes have been cleared out in Jeddah Governorate, since the start of the clearing last October until today.
He explained that the rents paid to the population amounted to 516.5 million riyals and 99,000 services were provided, including food chains, medicines, meals, furniture transport and milk supply for children.
It pointed out that 269 male and female citizens were employed, more than 23,000 people had been housed, and 475 development housing units had been turned over.
Interestingly, the Slums Committee in Jeddah Governorate had completed the clearance works in all developed neighborhoods of the Jeddah project, according to the previously announced implementation plan and timetable, as the project aims to improve the quality of life and facilitate access to all services to the population.
