The National Meteorological Center said the Kingdom is not immune to extreme weather phenomena that have become an obsession with countries around the world.
The managing director of the centre, Dr. Ayman Ghulam, said that what the city of Jeddah was exposed to on Nov. 24; A meteorological phenomenon that rises to an “extreme situation” in relation to the amount of rain and the time factor.
And he indicated that the center will make use of all its technical, technical and human capabilities to facilitate the task of the authorities working in the field with meteorological phenomena by providing the most accurate information that will allow these authorities to carry out their field and precautionary work.
He added that the center works with all relevant sectors to increase readiness by developing and updating the mechanisms used in such phenomena to enable the center to achieve its objectives and increase the capacity of the authorities to carry out their plans and actions.
