The Health Insurance Council revealed that the basic health insurance policy covers the costs of full vaccinations for adults, in order to activate preventive care, and in line with international standards and guidelines of the Ministry of Health for global infection prevention.
He explained that the new health care package provided by the Health Insurance Council applies to all beneficiary documents issued from October 1, 2022 onwards.
He stressed that vaccinations help achieve a healthy lifestyle, stressing that the first step is to receive the vaccine to prevent spread bacterial and viral infections and maintain immunity to resist disease-related complications, reduce the incidence of the disease, and hospitalization.
The board noted that the basic health insurance policy covers pneumococcal infection (ear and sinus infection, lung infection, bloodstream infection and meningitis), as well as whooping cough infection, diphtheria (severe infection of the nose and throat) and tetanus.
