The Ministry of Health has highlighted the reasons why rheumatism sufferers feel pain in winter and how to reduce symptoms and pain.
The ministry explained that the causes of these pains include stretching of the joints; Due to the cold, the thickness of the synovial fluid increases, which acts as a shock absorber for the joints.
He noted that reducing symptoms and pain requires massaging the patient’s aching joints, taking the annual flu shot to avoid rheumatic complications, wearing warm clothing to keep the joints warm, avoiding exposure to cold air, while maintaining physical activity indoors.
