The Ministry of Health has reviewed the most important information on the symptoms of myopia, methods of coping with it and its treatment, and the groups most at risk of developing it.
The ministry said myopia is one of the most common types of refractive defects, as the affected person sees close objects clearly while it is difficult for him to see distant objects.
He stressed that children and adults are among the most vulnerable groups to the disease, as well as those with a family history of myopia.
He pointed out that symptoms include: difficulty seeing distant objects, headaches due to eye strain, constant blinking and rubbing of the eyes, as myopia can be treated and adjusted through medical glasses, contact lenses or surgery refractive.
