The Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council affirms the most important benefits of karak tea, pointing to its wide popularity in the Gulf countries during the winter period.
The council explained that karak tea contains cardamom, which is helpful in relieving flatulence and stomach cramps, and also contains antibacterial agents that help eliminate bad breath.
He added that karak tea also contains ginger, which helps reduce nausea and prevent several diseases, including heart disease, because it contains antioxidants.
He also pointed out that the preparation of karak tea differs from one region to another, but it is often made by boiling tea leaves and adding milk, with flavorings such as cardamom, saffron, cinnamon or ginger.
He recommended choosing an unsweetened type of milk to add to the tea, as well as letting it boil over low heat for about 15 minutes, avoiding adding sugar and sticking to natural flavors to bring out the flavor of the karak.
