He indicated that there are some therapeutic preparations which may be innovative medicines from the company that first produced the product, or herbal or biological treatments, indicating that some generic medicines need a prescription to be dispensed and there are some medicines which do not require a prescription.
He indicated that companies tend to produce generic drugs for several reasons, including meeting the needs of the pharmaceutical market, the low cost of manufacturing and the time it takes for this, as well as requiring fewer studies than innovative drugs.
