A cardiologist and catheter consultant, Dr Khaled Al-Nimr, has warned of the dangers of sleeping less than 6 hours a day.
Al-Nimr explained in a tweet on his Twitter account that these risks include increased obesity, high blood pressure, high triglycerides and an increased risk of diabetes, as well as a doubling of the incidence of heart and brain strokes.
He pointed out that the psychological state plays a role in the incidence of diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol and heart disease, so attention should be paid to the mental and physical health of heart patients and the elderly together.
