The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, inaugurated the smart mosque project, the electronic portal of the ministry’s branch, and the “Trasul” program for electronic transactions, as part of efforts to keep pace with technology in its services.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs confirmed that a mechanism has been launched for the smart mosque in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, which is the first mosque that relies on technology in all its devices, such as lighting, air conditioning, etc., and everything that serves the mosque from its affiliated facilities with modern and smart technology. It is the first experimental mosque in the Kingdom and will be the nucleus for more.

Al-Sheikh explained that the digital portal of the Ministry’s branch in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region aims to automate the work of the Ministry’s branch by receiving and following up on departmental services and requests received electronically. To increase work efficiency, effectiveness, and speed of completion to support digital transformation with self-efforts from IT staff, as it processed 3,000 requests in its trial launch.

And he stated that the launch of the digital portal that connects the branch with the ministry, the branch with its governorates and its affiliated centers, and a messaging program that serves the ministry in facilitating its work, serving the citizen in fulfilling his needs, and serving the ministry’s message to communicate easily and easily to all beneficiaries.

The project contributes to saving more than 50% of consumption and the ease of controlling all components of the floors from one place through a touch screen and simple and easy-to-handle graphical interfaces and the ability to monitor any excess or defect in the mosque and report it automatically by issuing alerts, and the possibility of obtaining statistical reports of operating and consumption rates, and the possibility Monitoring and linking the status of mosques through a mobile application that connects wirelessly to the mosque network.
