Saudi Scholarship student in the United States, Omar Hashim, completed his studies with the support of wise leadership and is currently working in an American company after graduating and earning a bachelor’s degree in media and film production, and then a master’s degree in project entrepreneurial and leadership skills at Arizona State University in preparation for earning a certificate.
Omar explained that he achieved these successes despite suffering from lung failure and lymphatic cancer, as he played football regularly when he was a student at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, but suddenly developed shortness of breath and increased pulmonary artery pressure, which resulted in lung failure, which forced him to undergo surgery. Lung transplant, and he also underwent chemotherapy after contracting cancer after his car overturned 3 times.
He added that he attended the American Games for Organ Growers and won 4 medals: “a gold in doubles bowling, a silver in mixed doubles bowling and two bronzes in tennis and darts”, indicating that he is currently training under supervision of a special coach to participate in the World Cup to be held in Australia.
He indicated that he had set up a volunteer group to raise awareness of organ donation, under the aegis of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, dedicated to those who have experienced the same suffering, noting that the number of volunteers exceeded 45 volunteers , whether farmers or organ donors.
