A car burned at the Vossenkamp in Winschoten outside the front during the night from Monday to Tuesday. The fire brigade was alerted at around 4.30am that the car was on fire in the Molenstad, it quickly went to the scene and extinguished the flames. However, it could not be prevented that the car was damaged beyond repair. A hard blow for the car’s owners, who were about to go on holiday. The police are investigating how the fire started and are considering arson.
Winschoten has previously been hit by several overnight car fires this summer. On August 8, a car caught fire on Burgemeester Schönfeldplein, on July 17 it was hit on Jacques Perkstraat and on July 8 a car and van went up in flames on Burgemeester Schonfeldsingel. In addition, there was a failed attempt to set fire to a car on Burgemeester Schönfeldplein on July 20.
