It was at 8 rue du Tour de l’eau in Saint-Martin-d’Hères that the guests at this inauguration were expected, in front of the new building, to launch this evening which marks a new stage in the evolution of Charmilles and which strengthens its territorial roots. A completely renovated building which will accommodate five large spacious classes, on two floors, with a rest area for students.
A building designed, according to director Élisabeth Ravix, “to put students in the best possible conditions for the construction of their professional project”. During her speech, the director returned to the values of Charmilles: “Kindness is one of the key words of our teaching, and all our teachers are in the same approach of personalized support for students, to guide them towards accomplishment of their project.
Géraldine Da Cruz, head of the Professional Training Center, brought all the CFP teachers and administrative staff to the forefront. Metropolitan councilor Joëlle Hours was also present and spoke enthusiastically about the educational and professional program of Les Charmilles, while ensuring the support of Grenoble Alpes Métropole.
Two beehives in the building’s exterior garden
A particularity of the new building seen during the guided tour was the presentation of the installation, in the exterior garden, of two hives in collaboration with the Maison de l’Abeille Martinéroise, in the presence of its founder, Guy Bellet, partner long-time owner of Charmilles. In the reception hall, after the speeches and the ribbon cutting, the guests were treated to a wine tasting with a sommelier, a former student of the Charmilles, before ending the evening with a concert by the group ÉphémèERI, all members of the Entrepreneurship Network Isère.
