This Thursday, NewFest returns to New York for its 36th annual film festival featuring over 140 films that showcase the dynamic creativity of the LGBTQ+ community.
The line-up highlights films that deal with contemporary themes, including gender identity, the art of attraction and love that transcends boundaries, as well as a nostalgic look at some weird cinema classics. The festival places a special emphasis on historically underrepresented voices and identities in the LGBTQ+ community, with 82% of the programming made up of and about women, trans, non-binary , intersex, bisexual, black, indigenous people, people of color and creatives. with disabilities.
