Ryan Fraser is this season on loan from Newcastle to Southampton. A return to “The Magpies” seems unlikely.
According to The Chroincle, manager Eddie Howe and Co want to get rid of the striker on a permanent basis and receive a penny in transfer fee, although the 30-year-old is currently injured.
One reason why Newcastle hope for a permanent departure must be the wing forward’s salary. According to the Chronicle, he earns £70,000 a week, making him one of the highest paid players in the squad. In addition, Howe is said not to want Fraser back. The Scot, for his part, is said to have a desire to stay at the Championship club on a permanent basis.
Fraser, whose Newcastle deal runs until 2025, has this season accounted for eight goals and three assists in 32 competitive games for Southampton.
