Newcastle United dominates West Ham in 5-1 victory

In the sixth minute, Callum Wilson opened the scoring with a header from Allan Saint-Maximin’s center and shortly after (m. 13) the Brazilian Joelinton Cassio increased the score, after receiving from the Swiss Fabian Schar.

Frenchman Kurt Zouma, headed in from a corner kick, cut it short for the Hammers at 40, but at the start of the second half (46) Callum Wilson scored the third of the winners, this time with a shot near the line and assisted by Jacob Murphy.

A bad start by the Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski allowed the Swede Alexander Isak to score the fourth goal from an empty goal (m. 82) and the final 5-1 for the visitors was signed by Joelinton (90).

With 53 points, Newcastle and Manchester United are even, but the former have a significantly better goal difference (plus 26 against plus five).

For their part, in a duel corresponding to matchday 25, Manchester United recovered from their defeat on Sunday in Newcastle with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford over Brentford (ninth in the standings), allowing the Red Devils return to the Champions League area by moving from fifth to fourth place.

Marcus Rashford at minute 27 with a shot in the center of the area decided the compromise.
