Newcastle United finally got a new manager. The Magpies announce the appointment Eddie Howe as the new head coach.
Newcastle are looking for a new manager after sacking Steve Bruce. They had been linked with several names such as Antonio Conte to Unai Emery.
In the end, the search for Newcastle stopped at Eddie Howe. The former Bournemouth manager is currently unemployed after parting ways with The Cherries in August 2020.
Through its official website, Newcastle announced the appointment of Eddie Howe as head coach, Monday (8/11/2021) night WIB. The 43-year-old is contracted until the summer of 2024.
“It is an honor to be the head coach of a club with the status and history of Newcastle United. It is a very proud day for me and my family,” Eddie Howe said as reported by the club’s official website.
“It’s a great opportunity, but there’s also a lot of work to be done and I can’t wait to get to the training center to start working with the players.”
“I want to thank the club owners for this opportunity and thank the fans for the incredible welcome they have given me. I can’t wait to start this journey together,” he said.
