Newcastle rejected by Gerrard until Conte, got Eddie Howe

Newcastle United reportedly will have a new manager. Eddie Howe become her figure, after Steven Gerrard until Antonio Conte has rejected The Magpies.

Newcastle rushed to overhaul the team, after being acquired by Saudi Arabia. The first step, they’ve fired Steve Bruce.

Later, several top names were linked with Newcastle. Among them are Steven Gerrard, Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, and Unai emery.

However, there is no chance for Newcastle to hope. All the managers refused.

Mourinho, who was successful at Chelsea and has coached Manchester United in England, refuses Newcastle United. The reason is that he is currently focused on AS Roma, which he has just led this season.

“I am here, I am very happy to be here. I am 100 percent focused on the Roma project, Friedkin’s project,” Mourinho said, quoted by Sky Sports.

The second rejection came from Gerrard. The Liverpool legend, who is currently coaching Rangers, has also refused to be linked with Newcastle.

“I don’t really react or engage in any kind of speculation, especially when someone I really respect takes the job [Steve Bruce, sebelum dipecat -red]. I don’t want people to speculate about my job,” Gerrard said, quoted by the Daily Mail.

Then Conte was also reportedly reluctant to coach Newcastle, when he was still unemployed. Now, the Italian is actually coaching Tottenham Hotspur, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo.

And lastly, Unai Emery also firmly refused to coach Newcastle. The Spaniard is now focusing on Villarreal, who last season he brought to the Europa League champions.

After being rejected here and there, Newcastle have reportedly found the right manager. He is Eddie Howe, the former manager of Bournemouth and Burnley.

Howe himself has never won a prestigious title during his coaching. He can only bring Bournemouth to the Championship Division and qualify for the Premier League.

The 2019/2020 season was his last season coaching the Cherries, where the club finished 18th in the Premier League standings, and had to be relegated to the Championship Division again.
