Newcastle crush Leicester by three points in the English Premier League

Forward Joelinton won a penalty and scored in the first half to lift Newcastle United to a 3-0 victory at Leicester City, and today, Monday, into second place in the English Premier League.
Defender Daniel Amarte caused a disastrous start for Leicester when he fouled Joelinton after 86 seconds, for the referee to award a penalty. Forward Chris Wood rushed in to score the goal successfully.
The 31-year-old New Zealander Wood, who played for Leicester between 2013 and 2015, came about due to illness of Callum Wilson.
Miguel Almiron added the second goal in the seventh minute, charging onto the field from the right and trading passes with Bruno Guimaraes before shooting on target.
And with the league back after the World Cup break, there was little for Leicester fans to please after the Christmas celebrations, and Joelinton made it 3-0 with a header from a corner in the 32nd minute.
Zambian Leicester striker Patson Dhaka demanded a first-half penalty after a clash with goalkeeper Nick Pope, but the referee ignored the matter and despite Jamie Vardy’s participation in Leicester’s second-half ranks , the team didn’t do as much, as Newcastle held on to win.
Newcastle have moved into second place 33 points clear of holders Manchester City, who face Leeds United on Wednesday.
