In the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Children’s Hospital, doctors are fighting for the life of a newborn child who contracted the coronavirus from the mother. The infant is considered the most severe patient among those who are admitted to the COVID unit.
This was reported by Telegram channel Dnipro Oblastnoy… The baby was born just 10 days ago and after a short time he developed the first acute symptoms of coronavirus pneumonia.
It is known that the woman in labor was diagnosed with COVID-19. The child most likely got the infection through contact with his mother.
“This case indicates that the infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has become significantly younger. Now it is dangerous even for newborn babies. Today we have 20 beds for children with coronavirus, and they are all connected to oxygen,” – said the staff of the regional hospital in Dnipro.
As previously reported OBOZREVATEL, chief sanitary doctor Igor Kuzin said when in Ukraine the coronavirus pandemic will begin to decline.
