Newark Airport, one of three serving New York, was closed for just under two hours on Saturday following the runway excursion of a United Airlines flight that did not victimization, said the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA).
“United Airlines flight 627 landed at 1 pm on runway 22 left at Liberty International Airport in Newark, then skidded on the left side of the road,” the FAA said in a statement posted on its account Twitter, pointing out that the left landing gear was “stuck in a grassy area”. “No injuries have been reported to the FAA,” added the authority, who indicated that they were on site and explained that the aircraft would be towed after the evacuation of all the people on board without specifying their number. He was from Denver, Colorado.

For its part, the airport let it be known shortly before 3 p.m. (7 p.m. GMT) that airport activity had been able to resume but that delays would continue.
