(PressFire.no): Game prices from the biggest companies have seen a price hike in recent years.
Where new games previously cost $60 in the US, they have now increased to $70. Here at home, it has been translated into a little more: At launch cost a number of new games NOK 859 on PlayStation 5 og Xbox Series S/X.
On Steam, the guided prices have increased sharply, where we also see that some PC games are up to over NOK 800.
Nintendo, on the other hand, has stuck to the “old” prices of the Switch – until now.
«The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom» will be the first Switch game to jump up to $70 on the console’s online store eShop. The Norwegian price, on the other hand, is not as wildly out of sync with the currency as on other platforms, and the game is set at NOK 679 in the eShop online store.
Previous releases from Nintendo have cost NOK 589.
This also included the predecessor “Breath of the Wild”, but for some reason Nintendo set the price here in Norway to NOK 679 in 2019. The price was not set in the USA or in the EU.
Games released after this have nevertheless stuck to the “old” price.
“Breath of the Wild” is currently the only game on the platform that has this price (with the exception of collector packs or special editions).
So no “new” price for “Zelda” in this country, that is. But this could in theory mean that other upcoming games will also be set at NOK 679 eventually.
“Pikmin 4”, which will be launched in July, however, costs the “old” price: NOK 589.
