New Zealand withdraws almost all measures against coronavirus | Abroad

“Our actions have brought the virus under control,” said Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern at a news conference on Monday. “We have a strong position and can take our next step.”

In Auckland, people still have to keep their distance and mouth masks are still mandatory in public transport. There are 33 known infections in the city. Furthermore, the only people with the coronavirus in the country are 29 people who brought it with them from abroad. They are in quarantine.

Prime Minister Ardern does urge New Zealanders to still ensure good hygiene, so as not to let the virus make a second comeback.
