TRIBUNNEWS.COM – New Zealand will end the lockdown on its biggest city, Auckland likely this month.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said restrictions would also be relaxed from Tuesday.
Auckland on lockdown for almost three months due to spread Covid-19 varian delta.
This variant, known for its high transmission rate, developed in New Zealand to more than 4,500 cases.
There have been at least 150 new cases of infection every day for the past week.

Prime Minister Ardern on Monday (11/8/2021) said the vaccination rate for children 12 years and older had increased in Auckland so the restrictions will be reduced.
“Auckland hit 90% of the first dose and 80% of the second dose over the weekend, and is now weeks away from 90% of the double dose,” Ardern said. AP News.
“So while we’re raising those vaccination rates, we’re easing restrictions,” he explained.
Starting Tuesday (9/11/2021), retail stores and malls in Auckland can operate again.
Other public facilities such as libraries, museums and zoos are also opened.
