Wellington: New Zealand is struggling to follow on in the second cricket test against England.

Score: England declared 435 for eight in the first innings. New Zealand 1st innings 209, follow on 202 for three.

Kane Williamson (25) and Henty Nicholls (18) are at the crease when play is stopped on the third day. Openers Tom Latham (83 off 172 balls) and Devon Conway (61 off 155 balls including a six and six fours) gave hope to New Zealand. Will Young (eight) is also out. If they add 24 runs, they will match England’s first innings score.

In the first innings, skipper Tim Southee’s one-day style (73 including six sixes and five fours in 49 balls) took New Zealand to 200.

Tom Latham (35), Tom Blundell (38) and Henty Nicholls (30) were the ones who tried to hold on. Stuart Broad took four wickets and James Anderson and Jack Leach took three wickets each for England.
