[티티엘뉴스] New Zealand super basketball star Stephen Adams appears in Air New Zealand (NZ)’s new in-flight video.
Air New Zealand’s 23rd safety video, Every Point Counts, released as in-flight entertainment around the world on November 14, features many New Zealand stars.
In addition to the main character Stephen, special appearances include comedian Tom Sainsbury, who plays both coach and referee, sports broadcaster Andrew Mulligan, who plays a commentator, TikTok star Theo Shakes who plays a spectator, and Stephen’s older sister and Olympic legend Dame Valerie Adams. In the video, Stephen participates in a friendly basketball game with New Zealand kids, and tensions increase toward the end of the game.
Stephen said he was honored to feature in Air New Zealand’s in-flight safety video and enjoyed the opportunity to be with his special family. He said, “It was really meaningful to work on a project involving children and the local community. It was especially nice to have my sister participate in the video. At first, I thought, ‘I wish I could get out of my video!’, but collaborating with my family was really special. “It was a moment,” he said.
“Air New Zealand has always been committed to safety, and with this latest video we wanted to provide informative and entertaining content,” said Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran.
He continued, “We are delighted to welcome New Zealand icon Stephen Adams to the Air New Zealand in-flight safety video family. His journey from Rotorua to international basketball star has inspired countless fans to pursue their dreams, making him the perfect lead role. We know that our customers want fun safety videos, and since basketball is a sport that is synonymous with entertainment, we had a great advantage in creating fun and engaging content. It is very meaningful to support basketball, which has emerged as one of the fastest growing sports in New Zealand, and to take on a special project. “It will be fun to discover elements that symbolize basketball in the video, especially the homage to basketball legend LeBron James.” He added, “It’s been a few years since we introduced a new in-flight safety video, and I think it’s perfect timing to be able to watch the new video on airplanes as the peak travel season is fast approaching. “We look forward to our customers enjoying our new in-flight safety video on their next trip.”
