New York’s Barclays Center invaded by protesters supporting Nets’ Kyrie Irving’s refusal to be vaccinated – Marseille News

Protesters took to the streets of New York on Sunday to support public opposition from NBA superstar Kyrie Irving to being forced to take the coronavirus vaccine to play.

Social media protesters could be seen invading Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where Irving’s Brooklyn Nets play their home games, chanting “Stand With Kyrie”.

Jo Rose, who was at an anti-vaccine warrant rally in Times Square and said he would attend the protest for Irving, told Fox News they plan to start at Commodore Battery Park and travel to the Barclays Center ahead of the Nets opening game. . Irving is not eligible to play at home in Brooklyn due to a mandate from New York City.

One of the organizers, John Matland, told Fox News he expected several thousand attendees.

Matland described the fledgling movement as a “very diverse group” united in an effort to stop what they see as an infringement of their personal freedoms.

Nearly 1,000 people converged on Times Square last Saturday for a “Broadway Rally for Freedom” to protest the city’s draconian vaccine mandate.

The participants carried signs stating “No mandate… My body, my choice” and another demanding “equal rights for the vaxxed” and “non vaxxed”.
