New Yorkers Wake Up to Winter Weather Warning and Expected Snow Accumulations in New York and New Jersey

New York and New Jersey wake up this Friday under a winter weather warning with accumulations of up to three inches of snow expected during the day.

The National Meteorological Service reported that the warning will begin at 9:00 in the morning today and until 7:00 at night.

In New York, accumulations of between 1 and 3 inches of snow are expected, while some high areas of New Jersey expect up to 6 inches.

“There is a winter weather warning for our area, we are definitely going to have a white day,” estimated Stepahie Viés of Los Guardianes del Tiempo.

“It is not going to be a big storm, but if it is going to leave significant accumulations, the models show us about two inches in Central Park, in Manhattan,” he added.

“But for other areas like Newark, Paterson, Westchester County we could see 2 to 4 inches of accumulation.”

Temperatures will remain stable around 30 degrees during the day.

According to the 3:00 a.m. report on January 19, these are the expected snow accumulations in the New York area and some areas of New Jersey:

Manhattan 2.2″
JFK Queens 2.2″
Newark 2.2″
Paramus 2.1″
White Plains 1.8″
