New Yorkers Honor Veterans in 104th Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony

New Yorkers show their respect and appreciation to those who served our country this Veterans Day weekend.

Thousands of people paid tribute this Saturday to combatants of all wars during the 104th edition of the Veterans Day Parade in the city.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence, followed by the laying of a wreath in Madison Square Park.

The parade then marched to 45th Street and Fifth Avenue.

It included more than 300 marching units and vehicles, along with 20 thousand people from all over the United States.

A gathering was also held at the Intrepid Museum to honor our veterans.

Some of the surviving military personnel who served on the Intrepid participated in the ceremony.

The USS Intrepid was one of 24 aircraft carriers built during World War II and the fourth Navy ship to bear that name.

A memorial wreath was also thrown into the Hudson River in honor of the ship’s former crew members.
