New Yorker Sells Apartment to Live on a Cruise Ship: Amazing Retirement Story

An elderly New Yorker decided to put his apartment up for sale in order to live on a cruise ship.

This is reported by New York Post.

According to 80-year-old Mike Soroker and his 75-year-old wife Barbara, after four cruises they decided to radically change their lives. However, it will not be possible to do this right now – the new floating house MV Narrative, worth 2.5 million dollars, is planned to sail only in 2025, because it is still being built.

The 547-cabin watercraft will then embark on a three-year voyage involving frequent port stops. The initial deposit for this cruise was $60 thousand.

The money provided the couple with 720 square feet of space on the 18-deck ship, which has three swimming pools, 20 restaurants, a microbrewery and a library containing 10,000 homes. A little later, the Magpies will have to say goodbye to an additional approximately $130,000 a year in maintenance fees.

“We’ve been working all these years. It’s time to reap the rewards,” he said.

Mike admitted that he and his wife would like to see the Middle East, Antarctica and Asia, as well as make new acquaintances.

“Some people like me, who have already invested money, of course want to know how safe it is. If it falls apart, I’m not worried. In the worst case, we will get our money back. I just hope that I will still be alive,” the American added.

Cursor also reported how a man became a millionaire while waiting for food.
