The New York Yankees continue to seek solutions for their pitching in the face of the wave of injuries at the start of the season and this Tuesday they promoted pitcher Nick Ramírez from Triple A, who was posting good numbers at the time of the call from the Bronx.
Ramirez is not on the organization’s roster of 40, but will take the roster spot of Colten Brewer, who was placed on assignment by the Yankees.
The left-hander comes to the Yankees after pitching 10.1 innings in Triple A, in which he has barely allowed two earned runs, with seven strikeouts and a pair of walks.
Ramírez has not played in the Major Leagues since the 2021 season, when in the San Diego Padres uniform he added 20.1 innings of work, leaving a 5.75 ERA, 14 strikeouts and 7 reliever walks. He also wore the jersey of the Detroit Tigers in 2019 and 2020. His collective ERA in this instance is 4.55.
The pitcher came to the New York organization after leaving a very good impression in Triple A with the Seattle Mariners, with whom he left a 2.93 earned run average, 53 strikeouts and 15 walks in 55.1 innings of work.
