NEW YORK.- The New York Yankees They placed pitcher Luis Severino on the 15-day injured list with a left upper-body injury after leaving Friday night’s start against Milwaukee in the fifth inning.
After allowing a single to Brice Turang with a 92 mph fastball, Severino dropped his glove in front of the mound, doubled over in pain, and walked around the mound. He was holding his left side close to his oblique and was replaced by Jhony Brito after being reviewed by trainer and manager Aaron Boone.

«I feel like someone has shot me. “It’s like a deep, sharp pain,” Severino said as he fought back tears after New York’s 8-2 loss.
Severino, 29 and eligible for free agency after this season, could have made his last appearance with the Yankees. He is 4-8 with a 6.65 ERA.
