New York Yankees avoided arbitration with Néstor Cortés, José Treviño and nine other players, investing almost $40 million dollars

The New York Yankees announced this Saturday that they will keep several key pieces of the roster for the 2023 season.including important names in 2022 such as pitcher Néstor Cortés and starting catcher José Treviño.

Through a publication on his official Twitter account, the Yankees made official the new signatures of Cortés, Treviño and seven other players with which they will prevent them from attending arbitration.

Among the other names that agreed with the Yankees are the pitchers Domingo Germán, Michael King, Jonathan Loáisiga, Frankie Montas, Wandy Peralta, catcher Kyle Hirashioka and closer Clay Holmes.

Nevertheless, none of the amounts they agreed to were officially disclosed on the social media of the 27-time World Series winners.

Other portals such as MLB.com unofficially disclosed the amounts of the agreements, with Frankie Montas’s ($7.5 million dollars) being the highest of all.

Along with the Dominican, Cortés ($3.2 million), Wandy Peralta ($3.35 million), Clay Holmes ($3.3 million), Domingo Germán ($2.6 million), José Treviño ($2.36 million), Kyle Higashioka ($1.42 million) and Michael King ($1.3 million ) were the other amounts the Yankees would have invested.

Days ago they had already insured Isiah-Kinner Falefa for six million dollars and Lou Trivino for a smaller amount ($4.1 million).

In this way the Yankees assure almost all players that they could go to arbitration in the Major Leagues for the 2023 season and the only pending would be the Venezuelan Gleyber Torreswhich requested $10.2 million for this year and the currency offered $9.7 million.
