A 29-year-old woman barely managed to fend off a man who allegedly tried to rape her in the New York subway on Friday night, several American media report.
The victim was getting out of the car when his attacker pushed him back inside the subway and showed him his genitals.
The individual then tried to force the woman to perform oral sex before hitting her and pinning her to the ground. The man also tried to undress his victim as she struggled, then grabbed the woman’s phone and threw it away.
The 29-year-old victim finally managed to break free from the grip of her attacker and exited the car just before the doors closed. The man was therefore forced to continue the journey and was thus separated from his victim.
The woman was taken to hospital to treat her injuries.
During the attack, the attacker snatched the wallet and keys from the victim, from whom he stole $60 before swinging the wallet.
The New York police have released images taken from subway surveillance cameras and are asking the public to help them identify the attacker, in order to be able to arrest him.
The individual is described as a dark-skinned man, between 30 and 40 years old. He would be about 1.70 meters tall. During the attack, he was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants, both of which were navy blue. He also had white and black shoes and carried a green or gray backpack.
