Working on this project since 2010, the group wants to use this water for recreational purposes while raising awareness among the population on the importance of clean water and its ecosystem. With reference to the name of the association, the swimming pool will have the shape of a + sign accessible from the ground by a small floating path. Located between the East Village district of Manhattan and the Dumbo district of Brooklyn, it will allow city dwellers to bathe in the East River for the first time since 1938. Now that the project has been authorized by the city, the association is working on to raise the $ 25 million needed for the construction of this large-scale basin. + POOL estimates that the work will take two years to allow residents of Brooklyn and Manhattan to enjoy this extraordinary pool.
